Roatan The island is approximately 34 miles long and varies in width from one to six miles. It has lush tropical jungle-covered hills, pristine white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, unique cultures and authentic Caribbean charm. The climate is tropical with a rainy season from mid-October to late November. Temperatures range from 72 – 88 Fahrenheit. The water temperatures fluctuate from a cool 79 to a comfortable 86 Fahrenheit. Roatan is easily accessible from the United States with direct flights from Houston and Miami with TACA and Continental airlines. Both flights are approximately two hours, making it one of the closest islands of the Caribbean. In addition, American, Continental, TACA and IBERIA airlines all fly into the mainland Honduran city of San Pedro Sula with a short connecting flight to the island.
