Roatan
Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands is located in the Western Caribbean Sea and lies 35 miles off the North Coast of Honduras along the Bonacca Ridge. This submerged mountain ridge is also the world's second largest barrier reef, home to a diversity of aquatic life and world class scuba diving.

The island is approximately 34 miles long and varies in width from one to six miles. It has lush tropical jungle-covered hills, pristine white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, unique cultures and authentic Caribbean charm.

The climate is tropical with a rainy season from mid-October to late November. Temperatures range from 72 - 88 Fahrenheit. The water temperatures fluctuate from a cool 79 to a comfortable 86 Fahrenheit.

At the time of publication direct flights from the US are United/Continental from Newark and Houston and Delta from Atlanta.

TACA flies to Roatan daily through San Salvador (SAL).  Airlines with connections into San Salvador include Taca, American, Continental, Delta, Copa, and Mexicana.  An alternative route is through San Pedro Sula (SAP).  From SAP, there are multiple flights daily to Roatan on Islena (TACA), Sosa, CM, and Lanhsa.  TACA, American, Continental, Delta, Spirit Airlines, and Aeromexico fly daily to San Pedro Sula.

In addition to the U.S. flights, Europe Air runs a weekly charter to Roatan from Milan, Italy, and Sunwing runs charter flights from Toronto, Canada. If you are interested in visiting Roatan from La Ceiba (LCE), the Galaxy Wave high speed catamaran ferry may be an attractive option, with two trips daily (in addition to the multiple daily flights offered by Islena, Sosa, CM, and Lanhsa).

Travelers must have a valid passport with at least 6 months to expiration and $38.00 for the departure tax when leaving Honduras.

Activities
Do as little or as much as you want. Close to the world's second largest barrier reef and home to a diversity of aquatic life and an impressive variety of corals and sponges, make the surrounding waters a snorkeling and scuba diving paradise. We are a 30 second beach walk away from two PADI dive centres who can accommodate all your diving needs.

Other water sports include deep sea fishing, sailing, glass bottom boat, dolphin encounters, kayaking, windsurfing and para-sailing. Why not be really audacious and experience a submarine ride down to 2,000ft, Roatan is the only place in the world where you can do this.

Alternatively, if golf is your leisure activity of choice, why not let us arrange a tee off time for you to enjoy a few rounds at the signature Pete Dye Black Pearl Golf Course, already voted one of the top 5 in the Caribbean.

If relaxation is what you had in mind, a masseuse can be provided on request or bookings can be made at the spa, a few minutes stroll down the beach, for those extra special treatments.
